What Are We Rooted In?
What are we rooted in? What are our roots in life? Like a tree, we need roots to have a foundation. It’s a scary thought to be rooted in ourselves. Ourselves alone have no foundation.
It says in Matthew 4:4 ““It is written, “‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
When we are rooted in God’s Word, we have a foundation for our life.
Being rooted in God’s Word doesn’t mean we are going to be perfect. God’s Word exposes man’s failure and total dependency on Him.
how easy it is to be rooted in ourselves, though.
pastor matt once said that sin will guide you away from God’s presence and God’s presence will guide you away from sin, but the two cannot occupy the same space. that’s why being full of God’s truth is so important.
